Red Crows Productions was founded in 2023 by a group of seven Media Production students at the University of Florida. New to the film scene in Florida, they started Red Crows as a way to bring student filmmakers together and get hands-on experience doing what they love: making movies.
Working as a collective, Red Crows supports individual writers' and directors' ideas, providing the resources and connections to bring their stories to life from conception to premiere. In our first year alone, Red Crows has produced six original narrative short films, with two others in pre-production, and garnered attention at festivals across the state.
Paola Perez is a Founding Executive Board Member of a student-led production company that has produced over seven short films and expanded its presence through multi-city productions across Florida. With a focus on impactful storytelling and creative collaboration, she has helped shape the company’s vision while managing the logistical and creative demands of independent filmmaking.
Beyond production, Paola spearheaded the development of an educational program aimed at empowering high school filmmakers across Florida by providing hands-on industry experience and mentorship opportunities. She has been instrumental in cultivating Gainesville’s independent film scene, fostering a vibrant community of emerging creatives through outreach, collaboration, and accessible production opportunities.
