WUFT-TV signed on the air November 10, 1958 with a mission to provide educational broadcasting to the UF and other schools within the broadcast area. In the late ’50s and early ’60s programming emphasis at WUFT was on instructional broadcasts. The station has evolved to featured PBS programming, local productions and an award-winning student produced and anchored weekday newscast.

Paola Perez contributed to the development and production of WUFT-TV programs such as Amplified, Greater Good, and Knight Talks, gaining hands-on experience in both creative and logistical aspects of broadcast television. Her responsibilities included story research, script preparation, and on-set coordination, allowing her to support each project from initial concept through final production.
Working closely with producers and crew, Paola played a key role in maintaining efficient pre-production workflows and ensuring smooth day-of execution. Her attention to detail and collaborative mindset helped deliver high-quality broadcasts that reflected the station’s editorial standards and creative vision.
